Name this sweater contest.

I am soooo close to finishing up this pattern. It's been in the making since last August. Now it has been tested and edited and retested. Only problem, I'm at a loss as to what to call it. So far it's been labeled "Leaf Lace Sweater" but that just isn't a pretty name. So please, please help me come up with a name for this sweater! I'm going to leave the contest open for a week and after that time, I'll pick my favorite name and the winner will receive $10 store credit at my website, good for patterns or my hand-dyed bamboo yarn.

To vote, enter your name for the sweater in the comments section.
Mommy version can be seen here:

Arwen (before I even saw the picture that name came to mind)

The leaf pattern has a very dynamic feel to me, like they're growing, especially because of the split for the neckline. Since it's also a fun kids' sweater, I'm suggesting "Sprout." (A quick Google for "sprout sweater pattern" indicates it's not taken yet, either.)

I think Leif Erikson. LOL But I'm a nerd.

Cute pattern! How about "Petiole"? It's the technical term for a leaf stem, but it's a pretty word and it kind of sounds like the word "petite" which is appropriate for a wee one's garment.

That is so weird reading the previous comment. The first thing I thought of when I saw this sweater was that it reminded me of the elves on Lord of the Rings, so I was thinking call it , "Elven Lace". But I like Arwen too! I just can't believe someone was thinking the same thing as me...go figure.

It's funny that someone said Arwen because the first thing I thought when I saw the sweater was that it reminded me of the elves on Lord of the Rings. I was thinking, "Elven Lace" but I like Arwen too! Weird....

The names are all very interesting. Sprout actually came to me last night while I was supposed to be sleeping. And, I've been thinking something elvish would be perfect. Keep 'em coming!

Okay, I replyed ojn Ravelry, but just thought I'd leave my response here too - Laurel, cuz she looks like she is draped in a garland of laurel.

I also like Climbing Leaves. But, Sprout is cute since it is for a child.

I just LOVE your Adorabubble name and this just jumped right into my head!

I know we're supposed to be suggesting, not voting, but I think "Sprout" is perfect. It is what my brain was trying to come up with when it was stuck in an endless garden loop.

Yeah, I'm a voter, too. Sprout and Wee Sprout.

At first I thought Climbing Vines, but I see a couple of other people have also thought of that.

So how about Sweet Pea? Sweet Peas are a climbing plant.

It reminds me of a candelabra I saw once. So that's what I'm gonna say. Candelabra!

I vote "Cherub Wings" because my first thought upon seeing it was that it looked like wings. It's a precious set. Well done.

Coraria after the beautiful Sumac which has been 'used by Egyptian and Greek during Antiquity as a wool dye'. :D

Emma said...

OOPS !

It should read "Elven" and not "Elvin", ok ?

So....

Elven Delight

OR

Little Elven Delight

or something like that

(FYI, Elvish is the LANGAUGE, "elven" is the adjective used to describe something elf-like)

I am reminded of new leaves. Small, reaching, full of texture. and of course the wee child in the beautiful new green helped!

How about "Mallorn?" (The trees in Lothlorien where Galadriel lived.) It's not as cute a name as the sweater, though, I have to admit. I think "Sweet Pea" or "Sprout" (more gender neutral) is actually as cute as the sweater!

When I first saw the image of the sweater on your adorable model there, I too thought that a cute name such as "sprout" would be appropriate.

But, on second thought, the design is so beautiful I would love someday to see the pattern created for an adult as well.

Therefore I nominate "Demeter's Tunic" in honor of the goddess of nature and spring (or you can use "Persephone's Tunic" if you find her daughter's name more becoming).

It reminds me a lot of nature, so I like the name "Walden," as in the name of the work written by Henry David Thoreau when he abandoned civilization for a life in the wilderness.

Oh I agree, Arwen was the first thing that it brought to mind; what a beautiful design!
It reminds me of Arwen's butterfly crown actually.
So, my suggestion is "Evenstar" (sweater/set), since that is Arwen's name translated from Elvish.
Good luck naming it, it's darling!

How about "The Little Garland Sweater"? Love the way the leaf pattern runs around the neck and down the jumper.Baby looks beautiful in that green one!

Another Lord of the Rings name -
How about "Eldarion" after Aragorn & Arwen's son - he must have worn something like this as a little one, don't you think?
